Center for Teaching & Mentoring

Faculty Fellows

Faculty Fellows supports pre-tenure faculty in their first five years with essential tools, dedicated mentorship, and strategic guidance to help them prepare for tenure and/or promotion. Eligible applicants include faculty in years 1 through 5 of their pre-tenure journey.

  1. Locate and familiarize themselves with relevant policies for tenure/promotion at the university, college, and department levels.
  2. Create a faculty development plan including measurable goals for teaching, research/creative activity, and service.
  3. Select and reflect upon current and future opportunities to support their tenure and/or promotion goals.
  4. Partner with mentors who can support their progress to attain tenure and/or promotion.
  5. Receive a peer review of their teaching and reflect upon potential areas for growth.

2025-2026 Faculty Fellows

The 2025-2026 Faculty Fellows program is a year-long hybrid program (both in person and online) designed to provide motivation, guidance, and structure as you prepare yourself and your application materials for tenure and/or promotion. The program is facilitated by CTM Faculty Leader Jenn Caputo. Read more about Jenn on the Meet Our Team page. There are 12 available spots for pre-tenure faculty. Please do not apply if you cannot attend the following in-person sessions:

  • September 11, 2025, 2:00-3:00 pm – Program launch with Brian Hinote
  • December program check-in – Date to be determined based on participant availability
  • April 23, 2026, 1:00-3:00 pm – Tenure and Promotion workshop with Brian Hinote

The rest of the year-long program will be administrated in the 2025-2026 Faculty Fellows shell in D2L.
