Associate to Professor

The Associate to Professor Mentoring Program supports faculty at the associate professor rank. This program provides essential tools, dedicated mentorship, and strategic guidance to help faculty prepare for promotion to professor. Eligible applicants must hold the rank of associate professor. Individuals may not participate in the program during the same year they intend to submit materials for promotion.

  1. Locate and familiarize themselves with relevant policies for tenure/promotion at the university, college, and department levels.
  2. Create a faculty development plan including measurable goals for teaching, research/creative activity, and service.
  3. Select and reflect upon current and future opportunities to support their promotion goals.
  4. Partner with mentors who can support their progress to attain promotion.
  5. Receive a peer review of their teaching and reflect upon potential areas for growth.

2025-2026 Associate to Professor

The 2025-2026 Associate to Professor Mentoring Program is a year-long hybrid program (both in person and online) designed to provide motivation, guidance, and structure as you prepare yourself and your application materials for promotion. The program is facilitated by CTM Director Jennifer Vannatta-Hall. There are 12 available spots for associate professors. Please do not apply if you cannot attend the following in-person sessions:

  • September 11, 2025, 2:00-3:00 pm – Program launch with Brian Hinote
  • December program check-in – Date to be determined based on participant availability
  • April 23, 2026, 1:00-3:00 pm – Tenure and Promotion workshop with Brian Hinote

The rest of the year-long program will be administrated in the 2025-2026 Associate to Professor shell in D2L.
