Preparing Future Faculty

Preparing Future Faculty empowers graduate students with tools, mentorship, and strategies needed to secure a faculty position within higher education.

  1. Locate and review job announcements related to their field of interest.
  2. Prepare a professional curriculum vitae and cover letter.
  3. Adopt strategies for successfully navigating the interview and hiring processes.
  4. Develop core practices for effective teaching.

2025-2026 Preparing Future Faculty

The 2025-2026 Preparing Future Faculty program is a year-long in-person program designed for graduate students who desire a faculty position within higher education. Monthly sessions take place on Fridays from 9:00-10:00 am in LIB 348. The fall programming focuses on securing a job in higher education, and the spring programming highlights effective teaching practices. Graduate students who have earned 18 credits and are currently enrolled in year two or higher of their graduate degree program are eligible to apply. The program is facilitated by CTM Faculty Leader Dr. Lando Carter. Read more about Dr. Carter on the Meet Our Team page.
