All-Inclusive Mentoring
“Every time they succeed, I succeed.”

If this is your philosophy of teaching or being a colleague, then the All-Inclusive Mentoring (AIM) program, sponsored by Engage and the Center for Teaching and Mentoring is for you. Mentoring is a key component of academic and professional success, and yet many members of our MTSU community may not know how to initiate or sustain meaningful mentoring relationships with colleagues or students.
The Mission of AIM is to advance relationship-rich education at MTSU by investing in mentoring and providing faculty with targeted training and ongoing support. Drawing from the four principles that Felten and Lambert1 say are necessary to nurture relationship-rich environments, our hope is that we can create a campus culture in which every student, faculty, and staff member will experience genuine welcome and deep care, be inspired to learn , develop a web of significant relationships , explore questions of meaning and purpose (17-18).
AIM is a spring-only program in which faculty participants complete readings to learn about mentoring best practices, attend monthly meetings, and create a Mentoring Action Plan. The program is open to full-time faculty. Participants completing all program requirements will earn a stipend of $750 with the possibility of future seed grant funding to implement mentoring programs.
